Drawing on the history of Scandinavian, Celtic, and American folk music, Nordensong’s rich musical world breathes new life into these ancient traditions.

Composer/guitarist Karl Lundeberg has written two albums worth of music featuring his own 12-string guitar, as well as GRAMMY-nominated Loretta Kelley on Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and Laura Hummel on Swedish nyckelharpa, resulting in Nordensong’s bold, exciting sound that is a completely new re-imagination of musical eras and genres.

    COMPOSER/GUITAR

Former Columbia Records recording artist Karl Lundeberg’s career as a composer and performer stretches from classical to jazz to progressive rock to the traditional Norwegian folk music he grew up playing with his family band, The Berntsons.

There are few genres in which his award winning music has not met with critical acclaim and with Nordensong, he brings this inclination for the eclectic in creating a stirring and intriguing blend of Scandinavian, Celtic and American traditional folk music.

  • Loretta Kelley

    HARDANGER FIDDLE

Loretta Kelley has spent a lifetime steeped in the magical sound of the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle. She has traveled to Norway dozens of times, learning from master fiddlers and absorbing its rich folk music heritage.

In this country, she has appeared on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion and American Radio Company, and National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" and "Performance Today." Her recording together with Andrea Hoag and Charlie Pilzer, "Hambo in the Snow," was nominated for a GRAMMY award in the Best Traditional World Music Album category.

  • LAURA HUMMEL

    NYCKELHARPA

Classically trained violinist Laura Hummel is becoming an exciting new voice in the Scandinavian folk music world.
